Derek Olivier | Parkland City Commissioner District 2
Parkland businesses are hurting. As a business owner myself, I have a unique understanding of the challenges Parkland businesses face and have an eight step plan on how the city can help increase their sales.
Let's change the system! Together we can work on removing money from local politics. Money has a tendency to corrupt, so let's not force candidates to use it. I am taking the first step by not accepting any donations for my campaign.
Having our own Police Force will ensure the continued safety of our community and will save us a substantial amount of money. According to a CPSM study, a Parkland Police Force would save $3 million dollars per year, savings we can use to develop an incentive program to encourage our officers to live in Parkland.
Parkland is experiencing growing pains, including excess traffic and the loss of natural landscapes. We are losing what makes our city special. With my experience working in accounting and real estate development, I am ready to get to work on this issue.
